About Gary

I'm a degree-trained, registered nutritional therapist and professional chef, specialising in nutritional biochemistry, functional medicine and clinical practice. My work also spans public health, health promotion and research, alongside teaching cookery to students with a wide range of learning needs and interests.

With over 40 years as a professional chef and 18 years as a nutritional therapist — following four years of intensive training and a first-class honours degree — I bring decades of hands-on experience to every client I work with.

There are four main areas of my business.

Nutritional Therapy

My passion and enthusiasm for food and knowledge of cookery, coupled with my understanding of nutritional biochemistry can help you identify beneficial foods, understand their nutritional benefits and promote self-empowerment and control over your own health and wellbeing.

I believe that achieving a realistic dietary balance, that is sustainable, is key in promoting and maintaining good health and understand the importance of the mind-body connection (how one affects the other) and its role in achieving balance and supporting health.

I am member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine [BANT] (Professional Body) and I am registered with the Nutrition Therapy Council [NTC] and the Governments Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council [CNHC] (Regulatory Body) - that serve to uphold the excellent standards of: education; CPD; ethics and service provision in the profession. I meet a rigorous set of training standards (the reason I am a Registered Nutritionist) and operate within a strict code of practice, and I have the necessary criteria to be an approved practitioner for GP referral.

Nutrition Consultancy

I have a comprehensive understanding of both the contract catering & business sectors having spent a considerable time working in both. I can support menu planning, recipe analysis and offer advice on company wellbeing and policy, through to health and wellbeing support and workshops.

Health Promotion and Cooking

I have considerable experience in health promotion and I have worked with many organisations to help them improve the health of their staff. I have also run numerous cook and eat sessions and taught cookery to many different and diverse groups, and offer private cookery tuition and photoshoots.
